Travelling on a tourist eVisa or UK ETA
The dates above are for Umrah visas. If you use a tourist eVisa or the UK ETA, Umrah is allowed outside the Hajj season. Each year the authorities announce a pause before Hajj:
- In 2026 (1447H), Nusuk Umrah permits were suspended from 1 Dhul-Qa'dah (18 April 2026) to 14 Dhul-Hijjah (31 May 2026).
- From 1 Dhul-Qa'dah, anyone without a Hajj visa was barred from entering or staying in Makkah.
- The 2027 measures have not been announced yet. We will add them here as soon as they are.
Multiple-entry Umrah visa
Since 20 July 2026, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah offers a multiple-entry Umrah visa. It is valid for 365 days from issue and allows up to 90 days in total across all visits. Each visit needs a package bought from an approved Nusuk provider and an Umrah permit issued in the Nusuk app before you travel. The visa cannot be activated for entry from 1 Dhul-Qa'dah to 13 Dhul-Hijjah (Hajj season).
