Qibla finder: the Qibla direction from where you are
Find the Qibla in two taps: allow your location to get the exact direction of the Kaaba, then start the compass on your phone and turn until the arrow points up. Your location never leaves your device.

How the Qibla direction is calculated
The Qibla is the direction of the Kaaba in Makkah. This tool calculates the great-circle direction, the shortest path over the Earth’s surface, from your position to the Kaaba, given in degrees clockwise from true north.
The calculation runs in your browser from your device’s location; no location is sent to us or stored.
Examples of the result: London about 119°, Paris about 119°, New York about 58°, Istanbul about 152°, Jakarta about 295°.
Getting an accurate compass reading
- Hold your phone flat, screen up, away from metal objects, magnets and electronics.
- If the reading looks wrong, move the phone in a figure-of-eight a few times to calibrate the compass.
- A phone compass points to magnetic north, which can differ slightly from true north depending on where you are; the degrees shown are measured from true north.
- Without a compass, the dial shows the Qibla with north at the top: line it up with a known landmark or a map.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find the Qibla from my location?
Press “Use my location” and allow location access. The tool shows the Qibla direction in degrees from north and the distance to the Kaaba; on a phone, press “Start the compass” and turn until the arrow points up.
What is the Qibla direction in degrees?
It depends on where you are: the tool shows the exact value for your position. For example, it is about 119° from London, about 58° from New York and about 152° from Istanbul.
Is my location stored?
No. The direction is calculated on your device and your location is not sent to UmrahFacts or anyone else.
Why does the compass point slightly off?
Phone compasses are affected by nearby metal and magnetic fields and point to magnetic north. Calibrate by moving the phone in a figure-of-eight and keep it flat and away from metal.
Can I use it on a computer?
Yes. Computers usually have no compass, so the dial shows the Qibla with north at the top and the degrees from north.
